What practices are you using to create your life? We have a choice. We can create it or let it be created for us. If you say things like, “Why does that always happen to me?” Or, “Here we go again,” you might consider thinking about some steps to take in order to create your own life and your own happiness.

Here are the four practices that I use:

I spend time on gratitude, and not just on all the great things. But also the not-so-great things because from those experiences, I have learned lessons and gained wisdom.

Compassion and Forgiveness

These two things have helped me the most in the last 10 years of my life. Compassion allows me to form deeper connections with people. Forgiving people isn’t about them; it’s about you and freeing yourself from carrying that burden. It feels really good.

Knowing that I want to live my life in a way that enhances the lives of everyone I touch.

Actively Creating Fun

Fun means different things to different people. Think about what it means to you, and make time for it. For me, a big part is the anticipation of the fun – a great trip, a golf outing, a night out with Dori.

As you go about this week, think about what you practice and what you’re using to create the life that you want.

Life is good.
